You have found the optimal online, interactive news source not only for Humboldt County, but also for state, national and world news. We are a non-profit , non-partisan, equal opportunity organization. We have put together a news organization that is willing to extend themselves to go out and find the news for you. We have put it in a concise, readable, and attractive format.

Many in the community have complained of news reporting that is strongly partisan and slanted to support certain political agendas. We want you to know that when it comes to presenting the news our efforts are and always will be to locate and present facts and allow you to draw your own conclusions.

When we say that we are non-partisan we mean that we already have and are committed to eliminating any future pressure from investors, advertisers or social heavy weights to present politically, religiously, racially, and gender biased news items.

“People want to know the news, they want the facts, but what often happens is that they get a lot of unnecessary bias and slant that distorts the information,” explains Brittany Beller, the managing editor of LostCoastNews.com. “We wanted to bridge the gap and focus on bringing people the facts that they want to know and the stories that they need. And give residents a voice in the content they receive. "

We have multiple forums available to present opinions. We invite your insights, opinions and even biases either in "reply" to news or in our forum categories. To post to our forum you merely need to click the registration button.

We also feature student news, giving budding journalists an opportunity to publish their news contributions. Student journalists can log onto the site, submit news, and use the Student Journalism Forums to obtain resources and ideas, and to network with others. LostCoastNews.com is the first to offer this feature in Humboldt County.

The site features a variety of news categories, user polls, videos, and forums, including Veteran Voices, where veterans can share their stories and experiences.

We hope you enjoy and share your experience with Lost Coast News.
