Just released from EPD is the following:
On 3-2-12, the BMO bank in Rockford Illinois was robbed by a lone white male adult. The Rockford Police department has made a positive identification of the suspect as William Joseph Farrell. They are seeking a warrant for his arrest.
Farrell was interviewed by a San Diego County Deputy on 2-11-12, prior to being positively identified as the suspect in the CCCU robbery. EPD Investigators learned that Farrell might travel to San Diego or Carpentersville Illinois, and those agencies were sent information about his activities and his warrant for robbery. It was based on that information that Farrell was identified as the suspect in Illinois. Farrell was driving a stolen white, 2006, Chevy Full sized van, license 8060RY-B. Carpentersville Illinois is 55 miles east of Rockford on Interstate 90.
Farrell was last seen driving the van west on I-90 and may be heading back to either Eureka or San Diego.
The following is the information from the original CCCU robbery:
On 2-2-12, at about 1553 hours, the Coast Central Credit Union at the Bayshore Mall was robbed. The suspect approached the teller with a note advising the teller he was armed however no weapon was seen or brandished. The credit union teller complied with his demands and the suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The Eureka Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Services has developed probable cause showing 37 year old William Joseph Farrell as the suspect. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Anyone who knows Farrell’s whereabouts, should contact law enforcement with that information. Any close friends or relatives of Farrell should counsel Farrell to surrender on the warrant.
Anyone with information about Farrell’s whereabouts should contact the Eureka Police Department at 441-4060 or contact Detective Harpham at 441-4305.
